A web seminar on algorithmic skeletons has been given on Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Marco Danelutto and Massimo Torquati from the Univ. of Pisa, Dept. of Computer Science, gave the seminar and presented a short demo with the FastFlow skeleton framework, respectively.
University of Torino announces ParaPhrase ( radio interview )
Il progetto ParaPhrase, elaborato nel Dipartimento di Informatica del nostro ateneo, ha ottenuto un finanziamento di 3.5 milioni di euro dalla Comunità Europea nell'ambito del VII programma quadro ICT (Information and Communication Technology); diversi i paesi della Comunità Europea coinvolti in quest'esperienza che coniuga realtà accademica e industriale Il progetto, della durata di tre anni, è stato inaugurato a Torino all'inizio di ottobre 2011, e ha portato al Dipartimento di Informatica dell'Università di Torino un finanziamento di oltre 290.000 euro finalizzato a supportare professori, ricercatori e studenti di dottorato nell'attività di ricerca in ambito di calcolo parallelo ad alte prestazioni. Il Dott. Marco Aldinucci, ricercatore dell'Università di Torino, coordinatore dell'attività di ricerca nel progetto per la nostra Università, ci ha spiegato in cosa consiste il Progetto e come il finanziamento viene assegnato e monitorato dall'Unione Europea.
