ParaPhrase Workshop 2012
Rhodes, August 25-26, 2012
associated with Euro-Par 2012
Aims and scope
The ParaPhrase project (a three year FP7 STREP project started on October 2011) aims to produce a new structured design and implementation process for heterogeneous parallel architectures, where developers exploit a variety of parallel patterns to develop component based applications that can be mapped to the available hardware resources, and which may then be dynamically re-mapped to meet application needs and hardware availability.
This is the second open ParaPhrase workshop, following on from the successful HPLGPU 2012 on High-Level Programming for Heterogeneous and Hierarchical Parallel Systems (January 2012, co-located with HiPEAC, Paris).
The workshop aims to bring together researchers working on the various research issues covered by ParaPhrase and to discuss achievements, open research problems and perspectives in the area.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
- Advanced parallel programming models
- Methods for targeting Heterogeneous parallel architectures
- Refactoring techniques for parallelism
- Algorithmic skeletons
- Parallel design patterns
- Parallelism in functional programming languages
- Formal tools for parallel programming
- Efficient mechanisms supporting multi-/many-core programming
- Deployment and configuration tools for parallel heterogenous architectures
